Kush built Nageshwarnath Temple

There’s a lovely old story behind this temple. It is said that Kusha, the younger son of Lord Ram, was once taking a bath in the Saryu River when he lost his amulet (a kind of holy ornament). He tried a lot to find it but couldn’t, and he felt quite upset thinking it was a bad sign.

But the truth was different—a Nag Kanya found the amulet. She later gave it back to him . She was a big devotee of Lord Shiva, so to honor her faith and her devotion, Kusha built this temple in her name, and that’s how the Nageshwarnath Temple came to be.
