About Neem Karoli Baba
Born around 1900 as Lakshmi Narayan Sharma in Akbarpur, Uttar Pradesh, Baba Neem Karoli’s early spiritual journey began when he attained enlightenment at the age of 17. After years of wandering across North India, he finally settled and established the Kainchi Dham ashram in 1964.
Known by names like Lakshman Das and Talaiya Baba, his devotees believed he was an incarnation of Lord Hanuman, and he became famous for performing miracles and changing lives.
Baba’s samadhi sthal (resting place) is located near Pantnagar, close to Nainital, and is visited by thousands of devotees each year.

How to Reach Kainchi Dham
Kainchi Dham is located about 17 km from Nainital and just 8 km from Bhowali. The nearest airport is Pantnagar, and the closest railway station is Kathgodam.
You can reach Kainchi Dham by public buses, shared jeeps, or private taxis. Many devotees also choose to walk the 8 km route from Bhowali to the ashram as a form of devotion.
