Sita Rasoi is one of the most sacred and revered spots in Ayodhya, located beside the famous Bade Hanuman Ji Mandir, near Janaki Ghat. This site holds immense spiritual significance as it is believed to be the place where Sita Mata prepared food, following divine orders, during her time in Ayodhya.

Near Janaki Ghat, accessible from Chhoti Chhawani. Adjacent to Bade Hanuman Ji Temple. Lies on the main pilgrimage path in Ayodhya, surrounded by vibrant spiritual energy and the presence of countless devotees.
Religious Significance
It is believed that Sita Mata, preparing food here in this sacred space. However, as a queen, Sita Mata did not cook by herself. Instead, Annapurna Mata was invited from Kashi (Varanasi), and under Sita Mata’s guidance, six types of dishes were prepared. Even today, Sita Rasoi operates in accordance with these spiritual and traditional principles, maintaining a sacred aura.
Spiritual Atmosphere
The temple complex also includes a Ram Darbar, where idols of Lord Ram, Sita, and Hanuman are worshipped. Devotees can experience an atmosphere filled with bhajans, chanting, and evening aartis—notably the 7:30 PM aarti where “Shri Ram Jai Ram Jai Jai Ram” echoes throughout the temple.
The presence of many monkeys in the area symbolizes Ayodhya’s association with Hanuman and vanar sena, yet they are peaceful and do not trouble devotees.

How to Reach
Begin from Chhoti Chhawani, proceed towards Janaki Ghat. En route, you will pass Bade Hanuman Mandir, and just beside it lies Sita Rasoi. It’s a short walk and is well-connected by local pathways, usually crowded with pilgrims and devotees.
