The Thekkady Lake, located right in the center of the Periyar National Park and Wildlife Sanctuary, is an artificial lake formed in 1895 due to a dam. It spreads over 26 sq. km and is now one of the most peaceful corners of Periyar.

The boat ride is operated by Kerala Forest Department and Kerala Tourism Development Department you will find the boat with with 120-passenger capacity.
