Getting to ISKCON Temple Delhi

The ISKCON Temple is located near Nehru Place Metro Station (Violet Line). as we know metro is the one of the best and affordable public transport in delhi so if you coming by metro Exit from Gate No. 2 at Nehru Place Metro Station. from there take Auto Rickshaw: Just a 2 km ride away. Fare is around ₹40–50 whether you’re solo or in a group or you can walk through Astha Kunj Park, a green forested pathway leading to the temple.

First Impressions & Entry Process

I entered through Gate No. 4, where parking facilities are available. The temple has a well-organized system for visitors:

  • Security Check at the entrance.
  • Shoe Deposit Counter to store footwear (you’ll get a token).
  • Drinking Water and washrooms are available near the entrance.

Before entering the main temple, I washed my hands and feet – a refreshing ritual that set the tone for the visit.

The Main Temple – Shri Shri Radha Parthasarathi Mandir

This is the largest ISKCON temple in Delhi, built by Gopal Krishna Goswami. Inside, you’ll see Beautiful idols of Radha Rani, Krishna, Lord Vishnu, and Lord Rama. A spacious prayer hall where devotees gather for aarti and kirtan. during the special ocassions like krishna janmashtami the temple packed with devotees, the air filled with chants of “Radhe Radhe” and “Hare Krishna Hare Rama.”

  • Evening Darshan: 4:30 PM – 8:30 PM
  • Temple Opens: 4:30 AM

The Vedic Expo & The World’s Largest Bhagavad Gita

One of the highlights of my visit was the Vedic Expo Museum, located inside the temple complex.

  • Entry Fee: ₹50 per person
  • Show Duration: 30 minutes
  • Timings: 9:00 AM – 8:30 PM (a new show starts every 10 minutes)

Here you can see:

  • The World’s Largest Bhagavad Gita, displayed with incredible craftsmanship.
  • A light-and-sound show explaining the teachings of the Gita.
  • Intricately crafted statues of Hindu deities, including Lord Vishnu on Sheshnag and Lord Shiva.

Shopping & Food Inside the Temple Complex

After exploring the main temple and museum, I wandered through the shopping and dining section:

  • Govinda’s Restaurant – Delicious pure vegetarian food (no onion, no garlic).
  • Bhaktivedanta Bookstore – Spiritual and devotional books, including various editions of the Bhagavad Gita.
  • Gift Shops – Idols, incense sticks, devotional clothes, and souvenirs.
  • Prasadam Counters – Served daily at 1:00 PM and 6:00 PM at Gate No. 1.

I also saw the beautiful statue of Krishna standing on Kaliya Naag, which looks magical under the night lights.

  • If you’re visiting during festivals, reach at least an hour early.
