Qutub Minar is a historic monument in Delhi. If you’re in the city, you shouldn’t miss the chance to see it. It is the tallest brick minaret in the world and a remarkable example of Indo-Islamic architecture.
Historians believe that after the defeat of Delhi’s last Hindu ruler, Qutb-ud-din Aibak commissioned the construction of Qutub Minar in 1193. Notably, he was the first Muslim ruler of India.
This five-story tower is built of red sandstone and marble. Inside the minaret, there are 379 spiral steps. Due to its architectural beauty and towering height, it has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
